چکیده

Aim: To determine the incidence of Acute Mitral Regurgitation in severe mitral stenosis patients done with Post Percutaneous Transvenous Commissurotomy (PTMC). Methodology: This cross-sectional study was held Bahawalpur Heart Center, for duration six months from March 2022 to September 2022. The included 80 patients, regardless gender, between ages 19-80 years and who had not undergone PTMC. Those regurgitation stenosis, left atrial clots, end-stage renal disease were study. predefined Proforma used as a research tool document medical records PTMC patients. patient's name, age, echo results, sex, course treatment, complications post-procedure information are among variables documented on proforma. Results: mean age recorded this 43.18 ± 10.33. maximum females 65(80%). majority found have "Trace" MR, which is very slight leak heart valve. Before procedure, there 30 (37.5%) trace followed by 27 (33.8%) mild MR. 8 (10%) no MR-related difficulties, 5 (6.2%) moderate 4 (5%) mild-moderate After 63 (78.8%) experienced "no complications," 12 (15%) "severe regurgitation," local hematoma, cardiac tamponade seen one patient. Post-procedure, patient died. Post-stratification revealed that 61.3% without prior history commissurotomy female complications. While 22.4% those never MR overall Conclusion: Our showed only small proportion regurgitation. Overall, treatment successful safe. Percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy in patients with mitral stenosis and coexistent hyperthyroidism.

Percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC) was performed successfully without complications in 3 patients with severe mitral stenosis and hyperthyroidism. All 3 patients had pliable, noncalcified mitral valves. One patient who had been treated with methimazole for 6 months was still in a hyperthyroid state when she presented with intractable congestive heart failure and was found to ...

Effect of Percutaneous Transvenous Mitral Commissurotomy on Plasma Apelin Level in Mitral Stenosis Patients

Background: Apelin is an endogenous peptide with positive inotropic property secreted by the heart besides other tissues. Plasma apelin levels are altered in chronic heart failure with left ventricular dysfunction. However, the effect of left atrial hemodynamic overload on plasma apelin levels in mitral stenosis (MS) is unknown. In this observational study, we estimated plasma apelin level in M...
